Inspired by a real-life Jazz class taught by a professional ex-Broadway dancer at a local YMCA, MEET ME AT THE BARRE tells the story of the coordinated and not so coordinated who come together to work out life’s travails at the barre and at the local bar.
The story revolves around the lives of Cici, (CYNTHIA GRAVINESE) a recently divorced woman who is hanging on for dear life after being dumped by her high school sweetheart. Her fearless best friend, dance teacher, Mel (MALINDA FARRINGTON) invites her into a class of mis-fits and wanna-be's. Mel is excellent at keeping time and keeping everyone together! The ladies find their strength and humor with their new side kick Shirley (CHERYL FRANCIS HARRINGTON) a tough as nails, but mushy in the center stand up comic. Shirley’s a good time girl with a hearty laugh who can turn on a dime and throw a nasty death stare. TOGETHER THEY WILL SEE YOU AT THE BARRE!
